The remarkable, moving and exciting autobiography from the very talented award-winning singer and actress Patti Boulaye, is published on March 10th. It charts her riveting life story through wealth, poverty and civil war, to showbusiness stardom and success in Britain and her birth country Nigeria.
Patti’s enthralling life journey which has been written with great candour and integrity, takes the reader through her very difficult childhood, her parents violent divorce, utter poverty and virtual slavery in a backwards town, to wealth in the turmoil of elections in the independent Nigeria and near death in the genocide of the Biafra War.
Her redoubtable mother instilled enormous strength and the love of God in her heart through her own many examples of faith and fortitude. She observed when Patti had grown up, that hers was still “The faith of a child”
Patti is a singer, actress, painter, choreographer and producer. She was recently awarded and OBE for her charity work in the UK and Sub-Saharen Africa. Patti was also seen recently on BBC2’s The Real Marigold Hotel and this month has seen the launch of her autobiography The Faith of a Child.
Pattie has had a long and successful career in the theatre, television and in cabaret. After three years of starring in top London shows she appeared on the talent show New Faces where she went on to win the All Winners Final Gala show. Since then Patti has made over 200 TV appearances including Royal Command Performances. She later went on to have her own Channel 4 TV series The Patti Boulaye Show and also played opposite Lenny Henry in The Fosters.
Patti has starred in many well acclaimed musicals which include The Black Mikado, Carmen Jones, Jesus Christ Superstar and Hair which are just a few of the big West End productions she has starred in.
Patti’s career has also taken her into cabaret where she has headlined at venues such as Talk of The Town and Savoy Theatre as well as touring the world where she continues to be invited to perform for Royality, celebrities and at concerts, Michael Jackson invited her to sing at his 45th birthday celebrations in Los Angeles!
Patti continues to work tirelessly for her charities having supported several over the years and has acted as Patron for some of them. Following a visit to Africa Patti formed the charity Support for Africa as she was determined to do something about the effect and stigma of HIV on the lives of African villagers, this charity has now built five clinics and a school in Lesotho with Prince Harry’s charity Sentebale.
Patti is a Governor of BADA (The British American Drama Academy), Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and Patron of the UK’s Eastside Educational Trust. She is also the Founder and Managing Director of BIPADA an academy for good etiquette and protocol. Patti is always demand for her popular talks and lectures.
