Steve Cain is a journalist, features writer and author. Specialising in showbiz, entertainment, popular culture and lifestyle, he has interviewed a wide range of celebrities. These include national treasures such as Su Pollard, Christopher Biggins and Lesley Joseph; respected broadcasters such as Angela Rippon CBE, Dame Joan Bakewell and Lucrezia Millarini; music icons such as Elkie Brooks, Dame Elaine Paige, Marti Webb and five of the Nolan Sisters.

Steve regularly contributes features and celebrity interviews to Woman, Woman’s Own, Woman’s Weekly, My Weekly, Bella, Yours, Yours Retro and The People’s Friend. He has also written features for niche titles including SciFi Now, The Gay UK and Gay Times.

After graduating from the University of Sunderland with a first-class honours degree in Media, Culture & Communication and a nomination for Best Theoretical Dissertation, he started his journalistic career writing for newspapers in his native North East England. These included The Chronicle, The Journal, Sunday Sun, The Northern Echo, The Shields Gazette, and the Sunderland Echo. He has also been published in local newspapers throughout the UK, including The York Press, The Grimsby Telegraph, The Basingstoke Observer, The South Wales Evening Post, The Greenwich News Shopper and the London Weekly News & Mercury.

He also contributed more than 170 features to National World Publications over a four-and-a-half-year period

Steve’s first book, How to Be a Dynasty Diva, was published in 2016, to coincide with the 35th anniversary of the American prime-time super-soap, Dynasty. His first novel, A Role to Die For, followed in 2020.
